Oakland Mills Middle School Staff and Students Help Rebuild Homes

Oakland Mills Middle School has partnered with Rebuilding Together Howard County for more than 10 years, completing 12 home renovation projects as well as several urgent repairs and summer builds through this volunteer teacher-led initiative. This past year alone, more than 100 current 7th graders and more than 50 staff and family members participated in the Rebuilding Together projects led by Science Instructional Team Leader George Clifford.
Board of Education Adopts Requested FY20 Operating and Capital Budget, and FY21-25 Capital Improvement Program

The Howard County Board of Education on February 19, 2019, adopted its Operating Budget Request for the 2019–2020 school year totaling $972.7 million. The Board will submit its budget requests to Howard County Executive Calvin Ball in early March.

Update on the 2018-2019 Academic Calendar

As of Wednesday, February 20, Howard County public schools will have closed due to inclement weather five days this school year: November 15, January 14 and 30, February 11 and February 20. That is one day more than the four inclement weather days identified on the 2018-2019 academic calendar. The last day of school is currently scheduled to be Friday, June 21.
Hanover Hills Elementary School Achieves LEED Gold Status
