Student Data Questionnaire Included in 2019 PSAT

On October 16, all students in grade 9 will take the Preliminary SAT 8/9 (PSAT 8/9) and students in grades 10-11 will take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). A Student Data Questionnaire (SDQ) is included in both PSAT versions. It is optional and voluntary for students to complete the questionnaire and share the information.

Sixty-Four HCPSS Students Named 2020 National Merit Semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced that 64 HCPSS students are semifinalists in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.
Thomas Viaduct Receives 2018-19 Character Education Award

FARMs Registration Unlocks Access to a Variety of Resources

HCPSS participates in the federally assisted Free and Reduced-price Meals (FARMs) program, which helps families save money and opens access to opportunities. Students participating in FARMs qualify for a wide range of resources and discounts, including free or reduced JumpStart dual enrollment tuition, free college applications, discounted internet through the Comcast Internet Essentials program, and more.
Six High Schools Recognized for 2019 Seat Belt Challenge Participation

Six HCPSS high schools were recently recognized for taking part in the spring 2019 Making It Click Maryland Seat Belt Challenge, with leadership and support from their Students Against Destructive Decisions groups and School Resource Officers.
