HCPSS Students Named 2019 Carson Scholars
Twenty-four HCPSS students in Grades 4–11, who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and humanitarianism, have been named 2019 Carson Scholars. The scholars will be recognized at a regional awards banquet on Sunday, May 5, 2019.

Board of Education Adopts Requested FY20 Operating and Capital Budget, and FY21-25 Capital Improvement Program
The Howard County Board of Education on February 19, 2019, adopted its Operating Budget Request for the 2019–2020 school year totaling $972.7 million. The Board will submit its budget requests to Howard County Executive Calvin Ball in early March.
