HCPSS Students Named 2019 Carson Scholars

March 28th, 2019

Twenty-four HCPSS students in Grades 4–11, who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and humanitarianism, have been named 2019 Carson Scholars. The scholars will be recognized at a regional awards banquet on Sunday, May 5.

Seven HCPSS students were named first-time Carson Scholars, and 17 students will be acknowledged as Recognized Carson Scholars. Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. Recognized Carson Scholars have renewed their Carson Scholar status by maintaining high academic standards and a strong commitment to their communities.

Scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement and humanitarian qualities, without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion. Carson Scholars receive a $1,000 college scholarship award, an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school.
