The Bright Minds Foundation 2021 State of Schools Event Postponed

The HCPSS State of the Schools, hosted by the Bright Minds Foundation and originally scheduled for May 5, 2021, has been postponed.

HCPSS Class of 2021 Graduation Dates Set, May 28-June 4, 2021

HCPSS has announced the graduation ceremony schedule for the 2020-2021 school year. Ceremonies will be held between May 28 and June 4, 2021.

HCPSS Names 2021 Principal and Teachers of the Year

The Howard County Public School System has announced its 2021 winners for Principal of the Year and Teachers of the Year – Principal of the Year: Denise Lancaster, Deep Run Elementary School
Teachers of the Year: Niklas Berry, Oakland Mills High School; Amy Woolf, Oakland Mills Middle School

HCPSS Digital Education Center Level-Specific Virtual Information Sessions, April 20-22, 2021

Optional Pronoun Settings Now Available in Canvas

All Canvas users—including students, staff and parents/guardians—are now able to identify the pronouns they wish to have used to refer to them in various Canvas pages

Parents/Guardians Can Now Provide Consent for Voluntary Student COVID-19 Testing

HCPSS will offer a voluntary K-12 COVID-19 Testing Program that will provide free COVID-19 tests for students and school-based staff who develop COVID-like symptoms or are identified as close contacts while they are in a school building.

2021 Summer Programs Registration to Reopen April 15, 2021

April 9th, 2021

Online enrollment requests for currently enrolled HCPSS students will reopen Thursday, April 15 at 6 p.m. for the following programs: BSAP Summer Institute (Entering Grades K-9); Gifted and Talented Summer Institutes for Talent Development (Entering Grades 1-8); Innovative Pathways High School (Entering Grade 9 and Current Grades 9-12); and STARTALK Chinese Language Summer Camp (Grades 3-8). Enrollment requests for tuition-based programs can be made by a parent, guardian, school counselor or achievement liaison online through the Synergy Parent Portal on the HCPSS Connect webpage.
