Supporting Students and Staff After the Election

We returned to school this week following an emotional and sometimes polarizing election. The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) takes no stand on the election and will not interfere with free speech. However, we will enforce the Student Code of Conduct. This week, we took the specific measures to reinforce our core values, and support our students and staff.

Veterans Elementary School Partnership Recognizes Local Veterans

Veterans Elementary School (VES) is partnering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Yingling-Ridgely Post 7472 (VFW) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Yingling-Ridgely Post 7472 (VFW Auxiliary) to promote patriotism and respect for veterans’ military service to the country.
Roy Rosnik, Project Lead the Way Teacher, Applications and Research Laboratory

Veteran technology education and engineering teacher Roy Rosnik is widely recognized for his teaching and leadership in the field. His many achievements, however, boil down to following a simple mission: “I want my kids, when they leave school, to make life better for people, no matter the path they choose.”
