The 2017-2018 school year will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, for students and on Thursday, August 24, 2017, for teachers.

National Association of School Business Officials Honors Howard County Public School System with Meritorious Budget Award

It’s no surprise that “positivity” is a top Strength for Steve Ammann when one of his teaching mottos is “Learn it with laughter; learn it for a lifetime.” Getting hired right out of college, he has spent his entire career as a Mount View Middle School 8th grade English Language Arts (ELA) teacher.

All 12 Howard County Public Schools Receive Safe Sports School Award for Second Time

All 12 Howard County public high schools recently received the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Safe Sports School Award for their Sports Medicine Programs. This is the second time HCPSS high schools have been awarded this honor.
Howard County Public School System Names 2017 Principal and Teacher of the Year

The Howard County Public School System today announced its 2017 Principal of the Year and Teacher of the Year. Running Brook Elementary School Principal Troy Todd and Applications and Research Laboratory teacher Maddie Halbach were awarded the honors, respectively.
