HCPSS Schools to Participate in “Hour of Code” Computer Science Activities, December 4–10, 2017

To mark the fourth annual Computer Science Education Week, all Howard County public schools will participate in Code.org’s global Hour of Code the week of December 4–10. Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science designed to get students interested in computer science and programming.

2018-2019 School Attendance Areas Locator Now Available

A new School Locator for 2018-2019 school assignments is now available online. Users can enter their home address to identify the polygon area and locate school assignments for the 2018-2019 school year. 

Mt. Hebron Alumna Named Rhodes Scholar

Naomi Mburu, a senior studying chemical engineering at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, has been named a Rhodes Scholar for 2018. She is the first student in the school’s history to receive a Rhodes scholarship.

JumpStart Program Expands Early College Credit Options for HCPSS Students

The Howard County Public School System invites parents and students to attend an information session to learn more about JumpStart, the expanded early college and dual-enrollment program.
