Patapsco Middle School Establishes New Mentorship Program
Patapsco Middle School has partnered with The D.R.II.P (Deconstructing habits, Reconstructing life, Investing In Play) Youth Program to offer a life skills mentorship program for students. Under the terms of the partnership, D.R.II.P will conduct a mentorship program that assists students with relationship-building, empowerment, managing emotions and career readiness.

Board of Education Adopts FY24 Operating & Capital Budgets
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the Howard County Board of Education adopted its Operating and Capital Budgets for the 2023–2024 school year (FY 2024). The General Fund Operating Budget totals $1.1 billion, an increase of $72.1 million over FY 2023 which represents a 7.0 percent budgeted increase.

HCPSS Seeks Members for Policy Advisory Committees by May 24, 2023
The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) invites county residents to take an active role in developing and revising school system policies as members of Policy Advisory Committees. Members of these committees will attend 3-4 virtual meetings to discuss and make policy recommendations. Committee members are expected to participate in all committee meetings.
HCPSS Ratifies 2023-2024 Agreements with Employee Bargaining Units
At its meeting on April 13, the Howard County Board of Education ratified its master agreements for the 2023-2024 school year with the Howard County Education Association (HCEA), its educational support professionals unit (HCEA-ESP), and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 1899.
HCPSS Class of 2023 Graduation Dates Set, May 24-June 1, 2023
Howard County Public School System has announced the graduation ceremony schedule for the 2022-2023 school year. All ceremonies are scheduled to take place at Merriweather Post Pavilion, with the exception of Cedar Lane School, which will be held in person at that school. Graduations will be available for viewing live online and on-demand following each ceremony, and will be rebroadcast on the HCPSS local cable channel in Howard County (Comcast 95, Verizon 42).
