Tomorrow, the start and dismissal times will be changing for your school to better support the on-time arrival of school buses across our county.

Multilingual Parent Leadership Program Application Deadline Sept. 28, 2023

HCPSS’ Multilingual Parent Leadership Program will begin on Thursday, Oct. 5 The six-week program is designed to help multilingual parents navigate the school system and develop the confidence to serve as advocates for their children. The program also provides training for multilingual parents to assume leadership roles in schools and the community.

Career Academy Info Sessions, Nov. 8 and Dec. 12, 2023

Current 8-11 grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend in-person information sessions on HCPSS career academies on Wednesday, November 8 or Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023 at the Applications and Research Laboratory, 10920 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD. The evening will include two 15-minute information sessions and a visit to a third academy beginning at 6:30 p.m.

BSAP College and Career Opportunities Night, Oct. 12, 2023

Howard County Public School System’s (HCPSS’) Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) invites students in grade 8-12 and their families to participate in the BSAP College and Career Opportunities Night, being held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 12 at Long Reach High School (6101 Old Dobbin Road, Columbia, MD 21045).

HCPSS Athletics will Resume on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023

Networking Fair Facilitates Collaboration, Communication Between HCPSS and Local County Agencies

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) hosted a Networking Fair on August 21 for its school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, pupil personnel workers and other staff in HCPSS’ Office of Program Innovation and Student Well-being to engage with service providers and community agencies that support student well-being in Howard County.

HCPSS Seeks Members for LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee by September 29, 2023

HCPSS is currently seeking members to participate on its LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee. Interested participants are asked to complete an online interest form by September 29, 2023.

New ARTsite Sculpture on Display at Howard County Department of Education

The Howard County Department of Education building has been selected as the site of “The Evening Blooms,” a 150-pound sculpture by artist Cathrin Hoskinson. It will be on display outside the Department of Education through July 2024.

Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) Saturday Math Academy Fall 2023 Program

The HCPSS Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) Saturday Math Academy (SMA) will offer an in-person enrichment program for Howard County Public School System students in all levels of math for grades 3 through 12 based on course availability.
