July 15th, 2022

Summer Meals Update

Summer meals are available at no cost to HCPSS students, and any children aged 18 and under at the summer meals sites through Friday, August 12. Please note several adjustments to the current pick-up guidelines, effective Monday, July 18:

There is no change to the summer meal sites, dates or times. Learn more about summer meal service online. Note, there will be no meal service when schools are closed Tuesday, July 19 for the primary elections.

2022-2023 School Meals

Families are reminded that the federal government has not extended waivers allowing free meals for all students. Consequently, for the 2022-2023 school year, students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price.

Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees and many others in addition to free or discounted meals.

Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year.

Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.

Redistricting Survey Deadline: Friday, July 22

Stakeholders are encouraged to review the four redistricting scenarios and additional information included in the 2022 Feasibility Study and provide feedback via online survey by Friday, July 22 to help inform the Superintendent’s recommendation to the Board of Education. More information about the redistricting process including a timeline, resources translated in Spanish and answers to frequently asked questions is available online.
