New High School and Middle School Courses Proposals Accepted Through Sept. 2, 2022

Each year, Howard County staff, students, families and community members are invited to suggest new middle or high school courses. To propose a new middle or high school course for consideration, please complete this short online form no later than Friday, Sept. 2.

New courses are added to the course catalogs following an extended process that includes proposal, evaluation and approval; budgeting; curriculum development; course piloting and revision; instructional materials development or acquisition; and professional development.

Course additions are implemented through the provisions of Howard County Board of Education Policy 8000 Curriculum, which provides additional information about the processes for approving and developing new courses.
