Seven HCPSS Students Honored with 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Seven HCPSS high school students received national medals this year from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The awards program is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.

The following students earned gold medals:

• Tammy Chen, Centennial High School;
• Yinxi Chen, Atholton High School;
• Michelle Lee, River Hill High School; and
• Naomi Ling, River Hill High School, who also won a silver medal.

The following students received silver medals:

• Allison Abruscato, Glenelg High School;
• Mohamed Elhassan, Hammond High School; and
• Ashna Pandya, Glenelg High School.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards winners were recognized at the May 27, 2021 HCPSS Board of Education meeting.
