First Year Hammond HS Dance Teacher Receives 2021 State Award

Kerry Johnson, dance teacher at Hammond High School, recently received the 2021 Emerging Leader Award from the Maryland Dance Education Association.

This honor recognizes Johnson’s hard work and dedication in the field of dance education as an undergraduate student and in transitioning to her career as a dance educator. She was selected for serving as a positive role model for all students and her dedication to professional growth.

Johnson is in her first year teaching at Hammond, which is also her alma mater. Her award was recognized at the May 27, 2021 HCPSS Board of Education meeting.
