Update to 2020-2021 School Year Grading Policies

On September 10, 2020, the Howard County Board of Education voted to temporarily suspend sections of the elementary and secondary grading policies to institute procedures and calculations consistent with the HCPSS Reopening Plan for SY20-21. The policy changes–effective immediately and set to terminate at the end of the school year–accommodate a shift to a virtual environment and a 4×4 semester schedule.

Forty-Five HCPSS Students Named 2021 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced that 45 HCPSS students are semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.
