Clarksville Middle School Named 2018-19 Maryland Blue Ribbon School
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) announced this morning that Clarksville Middle School is one of six Maryland public schools to receive the State’s Blue Ribbon award for 2018-2019. The school was also recognized with this honor in 2005-2006, and as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2006.
HCPSS To Launch Apprenticeship Maryland Career Academy
Next year, the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) will launch a new career academy, Apprenticeship Maryland, which helps students gain sustainable employment and further education based on career pathways in manufacturing and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) occupations.

Bright Minds, the foundation of The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS), announces the establishment of the Sydney L. Cousin Memorial Scholarship fund effective December 2. The Foundation is establishing the scholarship to honor the life and legacy of the late Dr. Sydney L. Cousin, former HCPSS superintendent.
