Concrete Canoe Challenge Provides Students with Hands-On Engineering Experience
This school year, with financial and technical support from the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, seniors enrolled in the Civil Engineering and Architecture academies are participating in the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Concrete Canoe Competition, a college-level engineering challenge.
Proposed HCPSS Instructional Resources on Display through January 10, 2025
Newly recommended instructional resources for the 2024-2025 school year will be on display for review in the lobby of the Department of Education at 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. from December 16, 2024 through January 10, 2025, excluding December 23, 24, 25, 2024, as well as January 1, 2025.

Middle School Art Showcase Through Jan. 21, 2025
Members of the public are invited to see the Middle School Studio Art B Showcase, featuring artwork by 8th grade students from all HCPSS middle schools. The artwork is on display through Jan. 21 in the main hallway of the Howard County Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City.

BSAP Saturday Math Academy Spring 2025 Program Registration Opens Jan. 4, 2025
The HCPSS Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) Saturday Math Academy (SMA) will offer an in-person enrichment program for Howard County Public School System students in all levels of math for grades 3 through 12 based on course availability. Registration will take place via HCPSS Connect on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m.- until capacity is reached.
