HCPSS Students Receive 2023 Spirit of Soccer Awards

six HCPSS students who recently were honored with 2023 Spirit of Soccer Awards by the Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer. The awards are given to individuals who play soccer for the Baltimore and Howard County Allied Programs and who exhibit positive sportsmanship behaviors and leadership abilities while participating in the programs.

2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration Opens March 4, 2024

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year begins March 4, 2024. Parents/guardians of children who will be five on or before September 1, 2024, must enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.

HCPSS Automotive Academy Instructor Wins Electric Car, Honoring His Dedication to High School Automotive Education

HCPSS Automotive Academy Instructor Thomas Dearstine recently was honored as a Champion for Automotive Education in recognition of his dedication and contributions to high school automotive education. Champions for Automotive Education, a partnership between DARCARS and The Automobile Dealer Education Institute, honored Dearstine and eight other local automotive educators at the Washington, D.C. Auto Show in January.

Cedar Lane Horticulture Program to Host “Plant Palooza,” May 8-11, 2024

The Cedar Lane School (CLS) Horticulture Program will host “Plant Palooza” Wednesday, May 8 through Friday, May 10 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m.-2 .p.m. at the school, 11630 Scaggsville Road, Fulton.

4th Grade Art Showcase Through April 19, 2024

Members of the public are invited to see the 4th Grade Art Showcase, featuring artwork by students from elementary schools across Howard County. The artwork is on display through April 19 in the main hallway of the Howard County Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City.

HCPSS Coaches Among State Coaches of the Year

River Hill High School Boys Golf Coach Matt Graves and Howard High School Girls’ Basketball Coach Scott Robinson have been named among 18 high school coaches from across Maryland to be selected as 2022-2023 National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches of the Year. Robinson also was selected by the NFHS Coaches Committee as a Section II coach of the year.

2024 Summer Programs Registration to Open Feb 15, 2024

Synergy online enrollment requests for several programs will open Thursday, February 15 at 6 p.m. and remain open through Thursday, February 29 at 6 p.m.

Cradlerock ES Psychologist Named Howard County School Psychologist of the Year
