Watershed Report Card Program Celebrates 10 Years of Bringing Howard County Together to Advocate for the Environment

Ninth and 10th grade biology students, teachers, and administrators from HCPSS high schools and Homewood Center, Howard County Conservancy staff, and state and local representatives gathered at the Conservancy on April 17 for the 10th annual Howard County Watershed Summit.

HCPSS School Psychologist Named Maryland School Psychologist of the Year

School psychologist Dr. Laura Smith-Grose has been named the Maryland School Psychologist of the Year by the Maryland School Psychologist Association. Smith-Grose was recognized for demonstrating the highest level of professional practice and providing the full range of school psychological services.

Panel Discussion on BIPOC Leadership – June 6, 2024

HCPSS students and community members are invited to attend a panel discussion on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) leadership on June 7, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. in the Howard High School auditorium.

Applications and Research Lab to Host Plant Sale April 29-May 9, 2024

The Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL) will host a plant sale at the ARL greenhouse Monday, April 29-Thursday, May 9 (weekdays only) from 3-4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Board of Education Recognizes 2024 Friends of Education Honorees

The Howard County Board of Education honored Suzi Padgett as the 2024 Friend of Education award recipient at its April 11 meeting. The Board also recognized the Howard County Chinese School as its 2024 Friend of Education nominee.

HCPSS Students Receive Hands-On Experience at Howard County Medical Center

This is the first year Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students in the at the Applications and Research Lab (ARL) are collaborating with Howard County Medical Center (HCMC) to get hands-on observation experience in different areas of the hospital, which helps students gain exposure and explore their interests.
