HCPSS Seeks Citizen Members for Ethics Panel

July 13th, 2026

The Howard County Board of Education is seeking to fill one opening on the Howard County
Public School System’s Ethics Panel.

The Ethics Panel oversees the school system’s Ethics Regulations, advises the Board on matters
related to conflict of interest and financial disclosure, and provides advisory opinions to
employees on the applicability of the Ethics Regulations to specific situations. A complete copy
of the Ethics Regulation is available on the Howard County Public School System’s website at
https://www.hcpss.org/about-us/ethics-panel/.

Any Howard County resident who is at least 18 years of age is eligible to serve on the Ethics
Panel. Candidates may not be an employee of the school system, a current HCPSS student, an
incumbent member of the Board, or an owner of or an individual employed by an entity doing
business with the Board. Appointees serve a five-year term.

Howard County residents interested in volunteering to serve on the Ethics Panel are asked to
send a letter of interest and resume to the Office of the General Counsel at
amanda_kennison@hcpss.org. The deadline for submission is July 23, 2026.
