HCPSS Partners with Bright Minds Foundation and Prepare for Success on School Supply Drives

To help offset the cost of school supplies and ensure students head back to school with the tools they need to succeed, Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is partnering with its education foundation, Bright Minds, and Prepare for Success (PFS) to host two school supply drives.

The first drive will take place on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 2-6:00 p.m. at Uno’s Pizzeria at Long Gate Shopping Center (4470 Long Gate Pkwy, Ellicott City). Community members can donate needed school supplies and place them directly onto an HCPSS yellow school bus. Bright Minds and PFS volunteers will sort, organize, and pack backpacks with supplies and share them with schools and Howard County children who need them.

PFS is also collecting donations of school supplies through Sunday, August 16, 2026. A complete list of needed supplies can be found online. Supplies may be dropped off at several locations in Howard County, including all Howard County libraries, Columbia Village Association offices, several Columbia Association facilities, and several Howard County Parks and Recreation centers.

Community members are welcome to provide tax-deductible monetary donations in addition to – or in lieu of – supplies. Monetary donations can be made to Prepare for Success and/or Bright Minds.
