Earlier this year, three HCPSS students were selected to participate in the 2024 Honor Band of America. Sophomores Noah Peng (Marriotts Ridge High School/percussion) and Eli Krakower (Glenelg High School/euphonium), and junior Louis-Félix Gauthier (Wilde Lake High School/tuba) were among only 75 students nationwide chosen for the elite ensemble. They performed in March as part of the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis, under the direction of Colonel Timothy J. Holtan, 10th leader and commander of The United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own.”

To be selected for the Honor Band of America, students are required to submit a written application and recorded audition, which are evaluated by leading music performers and educators in the United States.

In addition to their participation in the 2024 Honor Band of America, Peng, Krakower, and Gauthier took part in the 2024 Maryland All State Senior Band. All three also are members of the Howard County High School Gifted and Talented Band.
