Student Enrollment for 2020-2021 School Year During HCPSS School Closures

April 6th, 2020

Parents/guardians of new incoming students and those entering kindergarten in the 2020-2021 school year (who are not already enrolled) are able to begin the enrollment process online, followed by completion of the registration process when schools reopen. Online registration is not required and parents may elect to complete the full registration in person at the time of reopening.

Please follow the guidelines below to register your child for next school year.

New Student Registration

Once school buildings reopen, you will be contacted to complete the registration at your child’s school. Parents or legal guardians must visit their child’s school and provide proof of parental relationship and any other documents not provided during the online registration process.
Please view these Frequently Asked Questions for additional enrollment information. Further details about getting ready for kindergarten can be found online.

Early Admission to Kindergarten

Due to state-mandated school closures, early admission appointments scheduled during this time are canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. Additionally, assessment dates and notification regarding acceptance or denial of application have been postponed until schools reopen, and will be shared at a later date. More information on early admission to kindergarten can be found online.

Early Admission to First Grade

Parents/guardians applying for early admission to first grade may submit all required documentation electronically to their prospective school. After schools reopen, parents or guardians will be contacted by their prospective school regarding an assessment appointment. Details on required documents and how to submit are available online.

Pre-K Applications

Due to state-mandated school closures, Pre-K application and enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year has been postponed. Once schools reopen, applications may be completed and returned to schools. More information about the Pre-K program can be found online.
