Three HCPSS Health Teachers Receive SHAPE Maryland Awards

SHAPE Maryland recently honored Centennial High School Health Education Teacher Rob Slopek as Health Education Teacher of the Year; and Patapsco Middle School Health Education Teacher Laura Johnson and Burleigh Manor Middle School Health Education Teacher Brittany Smith as Simon A. McNeely Award recipients.

Both awards recognize HCPSS teachers’ outstanding teaching and service in health education, dedication to providing innovative learning experiences, and proactive involvement in their schools and community.

The three teachers were recognized at the HCPSS Board of Education meeting on January 23, 2020.
