Boundary Review Updates: Board Work Sessions Continue

November 12th, 2019

The Board of Education continues to explore various options as they work toward a decision on boundary adjustments that may potentially impact communities in any of the 74 schools in our system for the 2020–2021 school year.

Please note several changes to the Board Public Work Sessions meeting schedule:
Tuesday, November 12, 4 p.m. (earlier start time)
Wednesday, November 13, 1 p.m. (new session added)
Thursday, November 14, 1 and 6:30 p.m. (dinner break at approximately 6 p.m.)

Any changes to the Board’s work session schedule will be reflected online. The Board is scheduled to make a preliminary decision on Monday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a final vote on boundary adjustments for the 2020–2021 school year on Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m.

The date of this decision allows for over nine months of preparation prior to students beginning in their new schools the following school year. Staff will use this time to help students and families transition to their new school and to prepare to fully meet each child’s needs. Learn more about the transition process.

Full details on the boundary review process are provided online. Archived videos and documents related to each work session also are online.
