Hammond Middle Math ITL Selected as a Presidential Award Finalist

Hammond Middle School Mathematics Instructional Team Leader Stacie Marvin has been named as one of six finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Marvin was chosen for being an expert in the subject she teaches and for her ability to inspire and support student success.

These presidential awards are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics and computer science teaching. State finalists receive a recognition plaque and a certificate in addition to a certificate signed by the President of the United States and a $10,000 award.

Marvin was honored at the October 17 Howard County Board of Education meeting.
