HCPSS Congratulates 2026 Hispanic Achievement Program Parent Academy Graduates
June 16th, 2026
Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) recently honored 29 HCPSS parents who completed the Spring 2026 Hispanic Achievement Program Parent Academy (Academia de Padres). Conducted entirely in Spanish, the academy provides educational information sessions for parents and caregivers of HCPSS Hispanic and Latino students on such topics as the HCPSS Hispanic Achievement Program; navigating HCPSS’ online platforms and apprenticeships; supporting students at home; and more.
“Huge congratulations to our incredible parent participants!” says Gastón Gámez, HCPSS’ Hispanic Achievement Program supervisor and leader of the Hispanic Achievement Program Parent Academy. “By dedicating your time and energy to growth, you haven’t just chosen to become better parents, you have stepped up as the leaders our school community needs. Your commitment is inspiring, and we are immensely proud to stand beside you as you shape the future.”
Parents graduating from the Spring 2026 Parent Academy received a certificate of completion and gifts from the Hispanic Achievement Program
The Hispanic Achievement Program Parent Academy is hosted each spring. Participants are recruited through school-based Hispanic Achievement Liaisons and Family Spanish Language Interpreters.
