The following was shared with HCPSS staff, families and community on Sept. 16, 2023, as part of a series of regular updates on transportation-related issues.
This week was the first time we experienced no bus cancellations for three straight days in either the morning or afternoon due to the availability of sufficient drivers to fill in for callouts. All suspended bus routes will be restored beginning Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, including the last three:

Once new schedules are in place with the shift in start times effective Wednesday, Sept. 20, we will be able to make individual route-by-route adjustments to further add efficiencies. We also know that additional improvements will have to be made to several routes, including some that serve students with IEPs or who are in pre-kindergarten, as well as buses that serve all students in Cedar Lane School and Homewood Center. These routes will be evaluated individually, and necessary adjustments will be made to improve their ability to arrive at their stops on time.
