Adjustments to 2025-2026 Board of Education Meeting Schedule

Beginning in January 2026, the Howard County Board of Education will implement a new meeting schedule on a trial basis for the first quarter of the year (January-March), shifting to one regular monthly meeting instead of two.

Board of Education Finalizes Attendance Area Adjustment Plan for 2026-2027 School Year

Redistricting Update; Additional Public Hearing Scheduled for Nov. 20, 2025

At its Nov. 13 Redistricting Work Session, the Howard County Board of Education voted to move forward with two preliminary plans for final consideration as part of the boundary review process for the 2026-2027 school year. Per Board of Education Policy 6010 School Attendance Areas, because a new preliminary plan was introduced that includes polygons not previously considered, a public hearing will now be held on Thursday, Nov. 20 during the 4 p.m. session of the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting, followed by a work session.

Board of Education Approves Proposed FY 2027 Capital Budget

At their November 6 meeting, the Howard County Board of Education approved the FY 2027 Capital Improvement Program – Local Projects for submission to the Howard County Council as the next step in the FY 2027 Capital Budget process. The Board had previously approved the FY 2027 State Capital Projects at its September 11 meeting.
