HCPSS Seeks Members for Resource Reevaluation Committee

HCPSS is seeking Howard County teachers, citizens, and HCPSS students in grades 9 -11 to serve on the Resource Reevaluation Committee. This committee consists of teachers, students, parents, and community members who meet to review any materials requested for reevaluation.

Lake Elkhorn Middle School (LEMS) mathematics specialist Stacie Marvin is one of 16 K–12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers from across the United States to be named as a 2023–2024 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow (AEF). The AEF Program provides a unique opportunity for accomplished K-12 educators in STEM fields to serve in the national education arena.

2023 Bright Minds Grants Support Innovative Classroom Projects

Twenty-three Howard County Public School System educators have been awarded grants by the Bright Minds Foundation, the school system’s education foundation. The grants, totaling more than $25,000, will be used to fund innovative instructional projects during the 2023-2024 school year.
