Manor Woods Elementary School was named a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. The school is one of only six Maryland public schools to receive the nation’s Blue Ribbon award this year.

Board of Education to Hold Regular Meeting, October 17

The Howard County Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 17, at 4 p.m., with an evening session beginning at 7:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

Howard County Class of 2017 Excels on SAT, ACT

Students in the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) continue to excel in performance on the SAT and ACT, two widely accepted measures of college readiness. Scores released by ACT and the College Board, which implements the SAT, indicate HCPSS students are outperforming state and national peers on both tests.

Board of Education Approves 2017-2018 Calendar Change

The Howard County Board of Education has approved a change to the 2017–2018 school calendar, making the last three days of school for students—June 12–14, 2018—three-hour early dismissal days for all levels.

The Howard County Board of Education will hold its quarterly meeting with the Howard County Council at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. The meeting will be held at the George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive in Ellicott City.
