Mt. Hebron Economics Teams Reach Finals in 2018 National Economics Challenge

Eight Mt. Hebron High School students have qualified to compete in the national championships at the National Economics Challenge in New York City on May 19–22. Mt. Hebron’s two Maryland state champion Economics Challenge teams will participate in both the upper and lower divisions at the competition.

HCPSS Interim Superintendent Signs 4-Year Contract

HCPSS Interim Superintendent Michael J. Martirano signed a contract to serve as the HCPSS superintendent for four years, from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022.

The Howard County Board of Education will hold a Closed Session on Tuesday, May 15 at 4 p.m. The session will take place in the Board Planning Room at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

Board of Education Policy Committee to Meet, May 14, 2018

The Policy Committee of the Board of Education meeting, originally scheduled for Monday, May 14, has been rescheduled to Monday, May 21, at 4 p.m. The meeting will take place in Boardroom A at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

HCPSS and HCEA Announce Tentative 2-Year Agreement

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) and Howard County Education Association (HCEA) announced today, May 9, 2018, that they have reached a tentative agreement for the 2018–2019 school year with limited openers for the 2019–2020 school year. HCEA represents certificated and ESP employees who serve the system in a non-supervisory role.
