The Board of Education Work Session and Public Hearing on the Superintendent’s Proposed FY 2020 Budget, originally scheduled for January 29, have been rescheduled for Thursday, January 31 at 1 and 7 p.m., respectively.
Board of Education Welcomes New Members and Elects New Leaders
Four new Board of Education members were sworn in during the December 3, 2018 meeting of the Howard County Board of Education, and the Board selected Mavis Ellis as Chair and Kirsten Coombs as Vice Chair.

New Policy Affirms Rights and Protections for HCPSS Foreign-Born Students and Families
A new policy sets clear expectations for the rights, protections and supports of all Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) students and their families. Policy 1070, Protections and Supports for Foreign-Born Students and Families, was adopted by the Board of Education during its October 2, 2018 meeting and will go into effect on July 1, 2019.
