New Partnership Supports HCPSS LGBTQIA+ Initiatives

HCPSS has signed a partnership agreement with Plot Twist Horse Farm to promote a creative, inclusive and welcoming environment for students and families. Through the partnership, Plot Twist Horse Farm will support support HCPSS LGBTQIA+ initiatives.

2024 Bright Minds Grants Support Innovative Classroom Projects

Howard County Public School System educators have been awarded more than $28,000 in grants by the Bright Minds Foundation, the school system’s education foundation. The grants will fund 20 innovative instructional projects during the 2024-2025 school year.

Worthington Elementary School Named 2024 National Blue Ribbon School

The U.S. Department of Education recently recognized Worthington Elementary School as one of 356 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2024. Worthington was selected for the Exemplary High Performing Schools category, which honors the state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests.

Current 8-11 grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend in-person information sessions on HCPSS career academies on Tuesday, Nov. 12 or Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 at the Applications and Research Laboratory, 10920 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD. Centennial HS Dance Teacher Wins Howard County Arts Council Outstanding Arts Educator Award

Centennial High School (CHS) dance teacher and fine arts instructional team leader Rebecca Clark has been selected to receive the 2024 Outstanding Arts Educator Howie Award by the Howard County Arts Council. Clark was selected based on her contributions to and their impact on the artistic life of Howard County through the arts, arts education, and support of the arts.
