Cedar Lane School to Host Annual Walk for Our Stars, Celebrating CLS Students, Oct. 10, 2026

October 7th, 2026

Cedar Lane School (CLS) will host its 28th annual Walk for Our Stars event on Saturday, Oct. 10 on the Cedar Lane campus (11630 Scaggsville Road, Fulton). Open to the public, the event provides an opportunity for the community to support and celebrate CLS students.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m., followed by a walk around the CLS campus at 10 a.m. The walk is fully accessible; participants with various modes of mobility are welcome to attend. Participants also are invited to attend a post-walk celebration with refreshments, music, and activities.

In addition to recognizing and celebrating CLS students, this year’s event will support the CLS PTA’s efforts to raise money to install a retractable playground shade structure and provide a more comfortable, accessible, and inclusive outdoor space for CLS students.

“Walk for Our Stars is a celebration of our students, families, staff, alumni, and community partners. What makes it special is that it reflects who we are as a school, a community built on belonging and a belief in every student,” explains CLS Principal Christine Johnson. “I hope participants leave with a deeper understanding of Cedar Lane School and the amazing students we serve. Our students demonstrate resilience, joy, determination, and countless successes every day,” she says, adding, “I also hope people experience the power of inclusion and community. Whether someone is walking, rolling, volunteering, sponsoring, or cheering from the sidelines, they become part of something bigger, a celebration of belonging and the belief that every student deserves opportunities to thrive.”

Interested participants in the Walk for Our Stars are asked to register online or in person the morning of the walk. Registration is $15.
