All HCPSS families are invited to attend the Family Connection Kickoff Academy on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 5:15-8:30 p.m. at Hammond High School, 8800 Guilford Road, Columbia. This inspiring event is designed to support, connect, and empower the HCPSS community. Discover practical strategies to enhance learning at home and explore K-12 curricular updates and academic standards. Participate in engaging sessions, access valuable community resources, and build meaningful connections with other HCPSS families. Enjoy student entertainment and a special appearance by a former Baltimore Raven!

Session Topics

• Technology with Purpose
• What’s New:
• PK-12 New Math Standards & Early Literacy and K-12 Math
• ELA K-3 & Student Reading Improvement Plans (SRIPs) and Middle School ELA
• HS College and Career Readiness and Career and Technical Education

Registration is suggested but not required. Child care for HCPSS students grades K-5, language access, and a light, complimentary dinner will be provided.

Dinner will be served starting at 5:15 p.m. Sessions begin at 6 p.m.
