What is your role within HCPSS?
As an Assistant Principal, I have the privilege of working closely with students, staff, and families. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to solve problems, collaborate with others, and help find solutions that support the success of our entire school community.
What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
Early in my career, I often found myself spending too much time on difficult situations and making them feel much bigger in my head than they actually were. I asked a mentor how he deals with stress, and he very simply said, “Don’t overthink it.” Just respond, handle it, and move on. I remind myself of that when I find myself overthinking something.
What is something you like a lot that would surprise people?
Disney World. I married into a Disney family, and at first, I really didn’t get it. However, since having kids, I’ve fully embraced the Disney magic and now enjoy making those special memories with my family.
What is on your bucket list?
One item on my bucket list is visiting Normandy, France, to experience the history and significance of the area.
What is the most interesting place you’ve ever been?
I haven’t had the opportunity to visit many places, but my trip to Italy is one I will always remember. It has incredible history, beautiful scenery, and amazing food. I would definitely recommend visiting Italy and taking in everything it has to offer.
