Survey for the Renaming of the Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL)

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is now accepting public suggestions for the renaming of the Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL).

Howard County Board of Education Policy 6050 Naming and Renaming Schools requires that all schools be named for geographic terms related to areas of the county served. Given that the ARL supports students from all high schools, any geographic terms from within Howard County may be utilized. Policy 6050 does not allow for schools to be named for specific individuals.

Students, staff and family members are encouraged to submit their name suggestions using the online form. All suggestions must be provided through the online form by Friday, October 3 at 5:00 p.m. to be considered.

All names will be reviewed and considered by a committee of HCPSS stakeholders and a list of recommendations will be presented to the Board of Education for selection at a future date.
