HCPSS Seeks Members for Policy Advisory Committees

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) invites county residents to take an active role in developing and revising school system policies as members of Policy Advisory Committees. Committee members serve a vital function on these policy committees by sharing knowledge, experiences, and perspectives during the committee’s work.

HCPSS is currently seeking candidates for membership on the following SY25-26 Policy Advisory Committees:

• Policy 1030 Child Abuse and Neglect
• Policy 1040 Safe and Supportive Schools
• Policy 3010 Emergency Preparedness and Response
• Policy 4010 Donations
• Policy 6020 School Planning/School Construction Programs
• Policy 7030 Employee Conduct and Discipline
• Policy 9270 Student Assault and/or Battery on Employees
• Policy 9280 School Use of Community or Reportable Offenses

The committees will include at least one member representing the general resident stakeholder group. Committee members are expected to participate in all committee meetings.

Residents interested in participating may submit a statement of interest online by Wednesday, May 21, 2025. A confirmation email with additional details will be sent to the individuals selected to participate.
