Scholars Leadership Honors Program Conference, March 8, 2025

The Scholars Leadership Honors Program (SLHP) is hosting a conference for young women in grades 9-12 and their parents/guardians to connect, learn, and celebrate culture, class & confidence. The event, being held Saturday, March 8 from 8:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. at Marriotts Ridge High School, will include a keynote address by Waterloo Elementary School Principal Dr. Rachel Edoho-Eket, workshops, and opportunities to network with scholars from across HCPSS.
A detailed event schedule is included below:
8:30 a.m. – 8:55 a.m.: Registration
9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.: Welcome & Keynote Address
9:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.: Scholars Presidents’ Panel
10:25 a.m. – 11:05 a.m.: Workshop I
11:15 a.m. – 11:55 a.m.: Workshop II
12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.: Networking Luncheon
12:45 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Closing & Feedback
Workshop topics will include:
- Conflict resolution
- Navigating Different Places as a Woman of Color
- Choosing a College & Career Right for You
- Who Calls Me Beautiful?
Lunch will be provided for students, scholars, and SLHP advisors; all other attendees are asked to bring their own lunch. Registration is required by Feb. 28. Transportation will not be provided.
Attendees are asked to wear a red or white top/blouse and black bottoms.
