HCPSS Seeks Applications for Resource Reevaluation Committee by April 30, 2025

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is seeking HCPSS high school students (grades 9-11 in SY25-26 and SY26-27); parents/guardians of students who will be enrolled in HCPSS schools through June, 2027; Howard County residents; and HCPSS school-based, certificated employees to join the Resource Reevaluation Committee (RRC). Policy 8040 – Selection of Instructional Materials allows HCPSS community members to request a review of Instructional Materials available to students in Howard County schools, whether they are used for instruction or available in the school’s library media center. The RRC committee is responsible for reviewing requests to reevaluate these resources and make recommendations to the Superintendent/designee.
General Information:
- Members may only represent one stakeholder group.
- Members will be selected via lottery for each stakeholder group to ensure balanced committee representation.
- All members must attend an annual orientation meeting.
- Meetings will be held quarterly on an as-needed basis.
- Members serve a 2-year term.
Anyone interested in being considered to serve on the HCPSS Resource Reevaluation Committee should complete this interest survey by April 30, 2025. All applicants will be notified about the status of their application by June 1, 2025.
