High School Advanced Research Program Information Night, Jan. 9, 2025

Parents/guardians of, and students in grades 8-11 are invited to attend a virtual information session on the HCPSS Advanced Research Program, which includes the high school Gifted and Talented Independent Research and Intern/Mentor courses. Participants will learn how these courses provide students with advanced skills in research, presenting, networking, writing, problem solving and collaborating —all while studying something of particular interest to the student. Students in the Independent Research course receive professional feedback from project advisors, while Intern/Mentor students apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in an authentic, professional environment.
This session will also provide information on the new Advanced Placement (AP) Seminar course available beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
Register in advance for the information session. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Please indicate on the registration if you are requesting an interpreter no later than December 13.
Advanced Research presentations are also held at individual schools.
