Marriotts Ridge HS Marching Band Named US Bands Maryland State Champion

Nov. 4, 2024 Update: They won! Marriotts Ridge High School’s marching band has been named the 2024 US Bands Group 5A National Champion. The group placed first in Class 5A competition and achieved the highest score of all the Class 4 and 5 bands. The group also set another school record for the highest score achieved in a marching band competition.
Bands from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey competed in the championships, held on Nov. 3, 2024.
Marriotts Ridge High School’s (MRHS) marching band has been named the 2024 US Bands Maryland State Champion. Competing against 23 bands from Maryland and Virginia, the MRHS marching band placed first – and achieved the highest score – in its class. They also set a school record for achieving the highest score in marching band competitions in the school’s history.
In being named the Maryland State Champion, the MRHS marching band advances to the US Bands National Championships, being held at Birney Crum stadium in Allentown, PA on Nov. 3, 2024. The MRHS performance will take place at 7 p.m.
