HCPSS is currently evaluating student personal technology devices in schools, and encourages all stakeholders to complete a survey to better inform the advisory workgroup and school system leadership considering this topic.

The disruptions and impact on student well-being caused by students using personal technology in schools has become a topic of national conversation. HCPSS is conducting a comprehensive process informed by stakeholders to identify ways to reduce or eliminate the negative impacts caused by personal technology by students that will work best in Howard County. Throughout the fall of 2024, there will be additional opportunities for stakeholders to be involved and informed leading up to final recommendations presented before the end of the calendar year.

The survey will close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. Details on HCPSS’ review of student personal device use are available online.
