Centennial HS Athletics and Activities Manager Wins State Athletics Administration Award

December 12th, 2023

Centennial High School (CHS) Athletics and Activities Manager (AAM) Jeannie Prevosto has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association State Award of Merit for Maryland. Prevosto was selected on the basis of her membership in professional associations and her outstanding service in interscholastic athletics at both the local and state levels.

Prevosto’s career in athletic administration spans 25 years, including seven years at Urbana High School in Frederick County and 12 years as the AAM at Mt. Hebron High School before becoming the AAM at CHS in 2018. She was named HCPSS’ AAM of the year in 2015.

“Jeannie is always ready to step in to help where help is needed,” says HCPSS Director of Athletics Jack Davis. “She is truly dedicated to her work and to the students and community she serves. This is such a well-deserved honor, and we are all so proud of Jeannie.”

CHS Principal Dr. Joelle Miller adds, “It is easy to see why Ms. P achieved the State Award of Merit; she never stops working, continually goes above and beyond, and always advocates for our students and coaches. In addition to her AAM role, she is an athletic trainer, a coach and an administrator. Her enthusiasm is contagious. It is impossible not to be excited or happy when around her. She genuinely cares about all things Centennial and her commitment to our community is endless. No one is more deserving, and we couldn’t be prouder.”

Prevosto will be presented her award at the MSADA State Conference banquet in April.
