HCPSS Partners with Educational Systems Federal Credit Union to Promote Financial Literacy and Career Readiness

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) has partnered with Educational Systems Federal Credit Union (Educational Systems FCU) to promote financial literacy and offer resources for students, families and staff. The partnership was formalized with a partnership signing on Wednesday, May 10 at the Applications and Research Laboratory, Ellicott City, Maryland.

Under the terms of the partnership, Educational Systems FCU will offer a variety of financial literacy programs for students and families, support HCPSS career readiness and Title I programs, serve on the HCPSS Academy of Finance Advisory Board and participate in school activities such as back to school nights, mock interviews and reading events.

Educational Systems FCU will also provide school supplies, winter accessories and personal care items for students, scholarships for high school seniors and a professional development award for staff via its charitable organization, the Support Education Foundation.

Educational Systems FCU has served the education community since 1955. The Credit Union provides financial solutions with a commitment to the members of the education community.

The Support Education Foundation operates and supports charitable giving programs for the benefit of members of the education community. Funds raised through the 501(c)(3) organization are used for programs such as student scholarships, professional development awards and other initiatives to help students achieve in the classroom.

The Howard County Public School System’s Partnerships Office has united schools with more than 1,000 businesses and community organizations to enhance the educational experience of Howard County students. Partnerships benefit schools, businesses and the entire community by leveraging the resources of all participants. Partners may commit human or financial resources or other support.
