April 18th, 2023

Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Registration for the HCPSS Rainbow Conference is now open. This free conference is designed to raise visibility and awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues and provide education and support to the HCPSS community.

The conference will be hybrid, with opportunities for both virtual and in-person participation. The event is open to everyone who wants to learn more about being supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community, including high school students, staff, parents/guardians and community members, as well as middle school students accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Virtual Sessions, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
During the virtual part of the conference, registrants may select up to four sessions to attend on how best to advocate for, engage, educate, or include the LGBTQIA+ community.

In-Person Sessions, 1-5 p.m., Homewood Center, 10914 MD-108, Ellicott City
During these sessions, attendees will be able to join Robinson Nature center staff to talk about ways to find community in the outdoors as well as learn about children’s and teen books written by LGBTQIA+ authors and featuring LGBTQIA+ characters.

In addition, there will be performances by the Ballet Theatre of Maryland, a scavenger hunt with Unmatched Athlete, a tie dying activity with Roll Up N Dye, an exhibition hall with resources and information, and a “Prom Wear Pop-Up” where high school students attending prom can take home a free prom outfit.

View the conference schedule online and register by completing this online form. During the week prior to the conference, registered attendees will receive an email from pride@hcpss.org with their conference schedule, as well as the links for each virtual session they registered to attend.
