29 HCPSS Elementary Schools Win Computer Science Education Awards

Twenty-nine Howard County Public School System elementary schools have received CS100 awards from CSisElementary and CSforAll. The award recognizes schools that have committed to teaching at least 10 hours of computer science to its students during the 2023-2024 school year.
HCPSS’ winning elementary schools include:

- Dayton Oaks
- Deep Run
- Ducketts Lane
- Elkridge
- Forest Ridge
- Fulton
- Hollifield Station
- Ilchester
- Jeffers Hill
- Lisbon
- Manor Woods
- Northfield
- Pointers Run
- Running Brook
- St. John’s Lane
- Stevens Forest
- Swansfield
- Talbott Springs
- Triadelphia Ridge
- Veterans
- Waterloo
- Waverly
- West Friendship
- Worthington
A total of 160 elementary schools from across the country received the awards, which were announced last month at CSK5, the national summit for K-5 computer science education. Award-winning schools submitted 90-second videos describing their computer science programs. The HCPSS Office of Instructional Technology also was selected as a showcase district to speak at the summit.
