ABLE Accounts: A Financial Planning Tool for People with Disabilities and their Families, Nov. 17, 2021

October 19th, 2021

Wednesday, November 17, 2021, 4-5 p.m. – Online workshop

Families of individuals with disabilities are invited to participate in an online workshop about the benefits of ABLE accounts and how they can be used to promote personal choice, independence and financial stability.

Kelly Nelson, Outreach and Communications Manager for Maryland ABLE, will share an overview of how ABLE accounts can help people with disabilities and their families to save and invest for the future without jeopardizing federal, state, and local benefits such as SSI and Medicaid. Topics will include tax-advantaged savings and investment options as well as how to use the ABLE account to pay for qualified disability-related expenses. Join us to learn about the eligibility criteria, enrollment process, features of a Maryland ABLE account and the account management process.

Nelson has worked in the field of disabilities for more than 30 years. She has served in many roles supporting people with disabilities and their families through advocacy, education, and connecting them to vital resources within their community

This webinar is co-hosted by HCPSS, Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Baltimore County Public School System. Register online to receive the meeting link.
