Community Use of School Facilities Reopening Updates, July 1, 2021

Effective July 1, 2021, the plan and schedules for the reopening of school facilities for community use were updated and these changes are reflected below.

Based on the Board of Education Policy 10020 Use of School Facilities and aligned with Howard County Government policies/procedures, and CDC and Howard County Department of Health guidance, HCPSS is phasing in community usage of school facilities for child care, school-related support groups, and Howard County Government and nonprofit organization sponsored events according to the schedule below.

The application and additional information about community use of facilities are provided online.

Outdoor Facilities

Summer season: Outside June 16 – August 29, Mondays through Fridays

Indoor Facilities

Summer season: June 29 – August 8, Mondays through Fridays

Weekend Use of Facilities: June 16 – August 29

Please note: HCPSS intends to return to normal use of facilities following Policy 10020 for the 2021-2022 school year.

Fall Use of Facilities: September 1 – December 31 (Indoor); September 1-November 30 (Outdoor)

Winter Indoor Use of Facilities: January 1 – March 31 (no outdoor use permitted)
